The Elderly Health Care Voucher Scheme

The Elderly Health Care Voucher Scheme has been extended to eye examination by optometrists since 2012. For Elders aged 70 or over, who can have eye health check from optometrists by presenting their ID card in our Centre.

From 2014, the Scheme has been converted from a pilot project into a recurrent support programme for the elderly and the annual voucher amount has also been increased to $2,000. The Scheme allows the unspent vouchers to be carried forward and accumulated by an eligible elder, subject to a ceiling of $4,000 to encourage elders to make more frequent use of the vouchers for primary care services including both curative and preventive care. Health care vouchers are for use in private healthcare “services”, and cannot be used for solely purchasing products such as medications, spectacles, dried seafood or medical equipment.

Optometrists in EyeCareHK are eligible service providers under the Scheme, elders can redeem their vouchers in our Centre. For enquiry and appointment, please call 2346 1138
